New portrait

  1. I think it's interesting you chose to go in a completely different direction from your original image! I like that you stuck with a monochromatic color scheme and instead of using a full force of color just highlighting areas with color against the black. It reminds me of a constellation and I think if you were to ever continue working on this piece maybe incorporating more of a celestial theme could be quite interesting.

  2. Okay, this looks fantastic! Like Jaimie said, it looks very much like it has a celestial theme going on, though it also reminds me of the dark depths of the ocean. The restrained use of color is beautiful, and I really enjoy how the filter you used kind of ties everything together by giving the elements a similar texture.

  3. Wow, this is a completely different piece. I like that it's more unified and that the pattern of the dress takes on a nicer position in the design. It does look kind of like a constellation! The subtle colors are an intriguing touch.

  4. I enjoy that you chose one major picture as a focal point for your new self-portrait. There was a lot going on in your other one, but I think that this makes it more cohesive. I still would like to see that dress' really bright colors. I think that would show more of your personality! I do really like the glowing, inverse effect though.

  5. I like the pictures that you choose from the original piece, I think they were the strongest one. I also like that you added color but stilled stayed toward the darker side which resembles your first one which is black and white. I like that you pulled out the colors of the skirt and just went with it. You looked like you had fun.

  6. Now I know what it reminds me of...It's like the colors you would find in oil or soap bubbles.

  7. I really like the color used! It's a little hard to see the detail because the dress flows into your hair and I can't tell what's happening in the top right quadrant as well, but think the color definately enhanced it
